Hard Conversations * 1 Min Read

Having a hard conversation with a kid, spouse, business partner or trade contractors can sometimes be tough. But, it’s a huge part of the job when you’re a general contractor. There will always be some point in the construction process where something didn’t go as planned and sometimes to correct those detours we need to have a hard conversation. Open and honest communication is #1 and the more you communicate with your trade partners throughout the job the less you dread the hard conversations. Most of the time we are afraid to have these conversations but, more often than not, they end up not being nearly as bad as we built them up in our minds. Hold people accountable to their work but, respect them in the process. Hard conversations are a part of construction but, as the general contractor you have to learn how to love having them because at the end of the day we’re trying to win as a team. Keep Growing.
