Know Your Limits *30 Sec Read
As a general contractor is very easy to look at how much money you’re able to make if you take on a certain amount of work. It’s tangible to see the profit/upside of a deal. But, often times we don’t take the time to sit back and see the down side of a deal if we take it. When we take on too many construction projects we have tendencies to get spread too thin. It’s easy to become over worked and as a result the quality of our work, customer service, management and more tend to go down hill. Know your limits. Know that it is okay to say no to a job. It is okay to take on less work to make sure that quality comes first. If we only look at the upside of a deal and the money we’re about to make we will always fail to see how taking on more and more work could eventually put a slow choke hold on your business. Stay true to your business model by knowing your limits.
